I have been stenciling for many years and have applied my craft to walls, floor mats, birdhouses, stools, furniture, napkins, coasters, bandanas, toddler splat mats, dog and cat spill mats, decorative slate tiles, cutting boards, TV tray tables, serving trays, place mats, and a few other items.
I have recently been doing a lot of toddler splat mats and pet spill mats. I have two weimaraners and there is definitely a need for a spill mat under their water bowls! If you have pets, then you know exactly what I mean.
We all know what happens when toddlers eat from a high chair. Having a splat mat under the high chair speeds clean up without having to do a lot of work and, since they may be personalized, adds a nice touch to your decor.
The Floor Mats, Splat Mats, and Pet Spill Mats are sealed front and back with multiple layers of varnish and the top is further protected by 3-5 coats of clear paste wax containing carnuba. The back may also be treated with a non-slip coating.
All of my items are basically one-of-a-kind and are done by hand...my hand. I do not use a sprayer to produce my works.
